| For those of you that don't know me, my mom had cancer. Twice. It wasn't breast cancer first though, it was a different kind. She didn't get breast cancer until after she had beaten the first cancer. And right now she's beating breast cancer too - and I am running in this race (again) for her and all the other survivors and people waiting for a cure. |
| May 2, 2005 Update: 6 days until race day. Previous visitors to this site may have noticed that I changed my goal time. Well, there's a reason. I have been fighting with an angry toenail for going on 2 months, and just started running pain-free again last Thursday. A real high-five goes to Mr. Rick Ostmoe, CNP, who finally fixed my toe the right way. He told me I'd be off it for a week, I was off it for three days. My 3 and 4 mile runs the last few days have been over 9 minutes per mile, so an 8 minute mile, even in race conditions, with basically a week and a half of training, is going to be tough. |
